A San Diego trading meetup that actually meets

Four trading groups on Meetup in this city, around 2,300 members between them, and not one has held an in-person event in years. This one runs at least three times a week.

Most trading meetups die the same way. Someone starts a group, a few hundred people join, one event gets scheduled, eleven people say they're coming, four turn up, and it never happens again. The group stays up for years afterward with a members count and no events.

The problem isn't that traders in San Diego don't want to meet each other. It's that a big open meetup asks you to walk into a room of strangers and work out who's worth talking to, which is a completely different skill from trading, and one most of us have never had a reason to practise.

So this is built differently. The table is booked before anyone signs up. It's capped — five to ten people, never a crowd. Every table is tagged with a market and a style before it goes up, so you're sitting with people who trade roughly the way you trade. Introductions get made at the start, by me, so nobody stands there holding a coffee deciding who to approach.

Ninety minutes with a stated end time. Everyone buys their own drink. No presentations, no slides, no speaker, and nobody selling a course, a signal service, a paid Discord or a prop-firm affiliate link. That last one is a rule, not a hope.

Tables run on weekdays and weekends, sometimes two seatings in one evening, at coffee shops and taprooms around San Diego.

I'll email you when new tables go up. A few lines, no more than once a week, and nothing else — no course, no newsletter, no pitch.
